On September 22, 2024, Changan Qiyuan’s new medium and large-scale high-end intelligent electric SUV – Qiyuan E07 officially opened for pre-sale. The new car is based on the Changan SDA platform architecture and provides two power systems: pure electric and range extension. The new car will be launched according to the configuration of a total of 3 models, and the pre-sale price range is 24.99-31 9,900 yuan. Officials said that the new car is planned to start mass production in October and be officially launched within the year.
Qiyuan E07 is based on the Changan SDA platform architecture, positioning medium and large high-end intelligent electric SUV. In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the popular closed front face design, the through-ring light strip is very eye-catching, and the lower surround adopts a blackened design, which increases the sense of hierarchy. With the design of diversion grooves on the left and right sides, it enhances the sense of movement. It is worth mentioning that Qiyuan E07 can also be equipped with an optional lidar and integrated into the front of the car.
The side adopts an obvious crossover style. Visually, the E07 whole car presents a subtle symmetrical balance. The roof is equipped with a practical luggage rack, the rear is equipped with a large coupe-style design, and the trunk is fully opened, which can realize a variety of shape switching, making it convenient to pick and place luggage/goods. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 5045/1996/1695mm, and the wheelbase is 3120mm.
At the rear of the car, the new car uses a circular light strip design + a horizontal strip light group design, which echoes the front of the car. The tail design is very simple, and a large number of horizontal lines are designed, which also makes the tail look very layered.
The most striking aspect of the Qiyuan E07’s appearance is the deformable design of the rear. Compared with traditional SUVs, the C-pillar to D-pillar of the new car are covered with a large area of glass, and the rear windshield can be retractable to form a pickup cargo box.
And the second row of seats can also be fully connected to the cargo box, and the open length of the flat back door is extended to 2.5 meters, which can realize a comfortable reclining in the rear cabin. Users can easily create a luxury queen bed room for the whole car: the total length of the flat seat is nearly 3 meters, and the open length of the flat back door is extended to 3.5 meters.
In terms of interior, the new car adopts the popular large-screen + wrapping cockpit design, which is very simple as a whole. The steering wheel adopts a three-frame design, and the multi-functional area of the steering wheel adopts a button + roller design. It is also equipped with a 15.4-inch sunflower screen. In terms of smart driving, Qiyuan E07 is the first model in Changan to officially enter the field of end-to-end large-model smart driving. The new car is equipped with a high-speed intelligent pilot assistance system, which can quickly judge lane change to high traffic efficiency lane, autonomously surpass slow cars, identify obstacles in advance and take the initiative to change lanes, and laterally move away from the car. In addition, Qiyuan E07 will also launch the industry’s only remote parking integration function in December 2024 through OTA, allowing users to activate remote parking, parking and moving functions through the mobile APP with one click.
In terms of configuration, the front row has double zero gravity seats, with electric adjustment, memory, ventilation, heating, massage and other functions; at the same time, it is equipped with a high definition AR-HUD system, up to 18 speakers (with independent power amplifier) sound system, 256 color soft light ambient light, mixed fragrance system, and four electric suction functions.
In addition, there is also a screen above the co-pilot, which is located in the position of the sun visor. After turning it down, it can be used. This way avoids the reflection caused by direct sunlight and can better prolong the use time of the screen.
In terms of safety, the Changan Qiyuan E07 adopts a new generation of safety body design. The proportion of high-strength steel and aluminum alloy is more than 90%. The key parts such as the front cover and the car body are made of all-aluminum alloy, which greatly enhances the durability and safety of the vehicle. In addition, the new car comes standard with 9 airbags and high-end auxiliary driving.
In terms of space, the 3120mm wheelbase brings enough rear legroom, and in terms of storage, there will be two relatively large hidden storage compartments after the front and rear seat cushions. Officials said that electric machinery equipment is also expected to be added in the future.
In terms of power system, Qiyuan E07 provides both pure electric and range extension power, of which the range extension version is equipped with a 1.5T range extender, with a maximum power of 105kW and a motor peak power of 231kW. In terms of battery life, the new car is equipped with a 39kWh battery pack, with a pure electric range of 200km (CLTC operating conditions).
The pure electric version also offers two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. The maximum output power of the two-wheel drive version is 252kW and 165kW depending on the power, and the maximum speed can reach 201 kilometers per hour. The four-wheel drive version adopts a front and rear dual motor layout, with a front motor power of 188kW and a rear motor power of 252kW, up to 440kW, and a maximum speed of 210 kilometers per hour.
In addition, the Qiyuan E07 is also equipped with a CDC + air spring intelligent magic carpet suspension, with a body height adjustment range of 90mm, a ground clearance of up to 217mm, and a maximum wading depth of up to 600mm. The trunk can dynamically load 300kg.
